Life Insurance Corporation of India was founded in the year 1956 as a largest state owned life insurance company of the country. This government owned corporation has its headquarter located at Mumbai. The corporation has an employee strength of total 1.15 lakh personnel. The corproation has total 8 zonal offices with 113 divisional offics located in different parts of the country. The corporation initially started its business with only 3 offices and a corpus of INR 459 million. The corporation also has a charity organization named LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation.

Job Profile:

Life Insurance Corporation of India invites application from eligible candidates for appointment on the position of Direct Sales Executive in its various Divisions/Zonal Offices. The vacancies are available in Eastern Zone Office (Kolkata), North Central Zone Office (Kanpur), Central Zone Office (Bhopal), East Central Zone Office (Patna), Northern Zone Office (Delhi), Southern Zone Office (Chennai), Western Zone Office (Mumbai) and South Central Zone Office (Hyderabad) of LIC. Candidates will be recruited on contract basis for a period of 3 years.

Eligibility:

21 years is the minimum age limit set for the post of Direct Sales Executive as on 1 May 2011.
35 years is the maximum age limit set for the post of Direct Sales Executive as on 1 May 2011.

Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to the candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC etc. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per the rules of Government of India.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have done Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university of India. However, preference will be given to the candidates with bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Marketing or Management from a reputed or recognized university. Candidates must also have good working knowledge of English language and also one Regional language (preferably local langauge). Candidates with knowledge of soft skills such as MS Word, Microsoft excel etc are deisrable for the specified post.

Application Fee:

An application fee of Rs. 100 is need to be submitted by eligible General and OBC categories candidates. No fee is to be submitted by SC/ST candidates. The application fee must be paid in cash only at the cash counter of any branch office of Life Insurance Corporation of India under Account Code- 114034.

How to apply: Application must be made online only at LIC website. Candidates will be allowed to apply online from 20 Septmeber 2011 onwards. Candidates should also take a printout of the application form after submitting it online. Printout of the completed application form must be retained by the candidates and should be produced at the time of Interview Test.
