Gour Banga University also called as University of Gour Banga is a State University founded under an Act of West Bengal State 2007. Initially, the university was offering only under graduation courses and post graduation courses were introduced in the year 2008 on the 15th of December. The university is offering education under seven different department namely mathematics, education, history, Arabic, Sanskrit, Bengali and English. The university admits students to different courses offered by it on the basis of the marks secured by the students in the qualifying examination. The university apart from offering education through its own campus, also offers education through its affiliated college spread over the districts of Malda, Dakshin Dinajpur and Uttar Dinajpur.
