This institute was established in 2001 by the Salesians who were residing in Matunga region of Mumbai. Initially St. Joseph’s Training institute was started in 1965, and then they started Don Bosco Maritime Academy in the year 1998 and finally Don Bosco Institute of Technology in 2001. This institute is situated in Kurla of Mumbai and provides holistic environment to expand the knowledge. The mission of this college lies in providing best service in the tradition of Don Bosco thereby developing entrepreneurial attitude and social commitment of the students. The college is affiliated to University of Mumbai and is approved by the AICTE.

Courses:

Four main categories of engineering are offered in this institute.

B.E. in Information Technology

B.E. in Computer Engineering

B.E. in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

Admission:

Admission procedure and eligibility are as per the norms of Maharashtra Government. Out of the total intake of 60 seats, 20% of the seats are available for Open category students. The availability and admission is based on the marks obtained in MHT/CET and in higher secondary examination. Candidates who have scored in All India Engineering Entrance Examination are also qualified for admission in this college. The college does not collect any tuition fees or development fees from SC/ST candidates.

Services:

The central library holds around 10,000 volumes of books and 60 journals. It also contains separate CD collection of over 1000 in the field of software, management skills, personal management, aptitude tests and GATE exams. The service in the library is fully automated through Open Public Access Catalogue (OPAC).

This college is equipped with state of art networking facilities for supporting students and faculty. Each department has separate laboratory with essential instruments for giving practical training.

The Placement cell of this institute covers all essential features of campus placements for the outgoing students. Training is given in the form of personality development, written tests, group discussions, interviews and pre-placement talks.

Reputed organizations like L & T, Accenture, and TATA infotech, PCS, Mahindra British Telecom, Capegemini, Wipro and Global Telesystems have given recruitment for the final year students.

    Do you have some reserved seats at your institution (Don Bosco) under the Gulf NRI Quota i.e. for the children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries. If so, could you please provide some details regarding to get the admission under this Gulf NRI qouta, fee sturcture etc.
