Punjab State Electricity Board – Assistant Engineers
Company profile: PSEB came into existence in the year 1959. It runs its own generation power plants. It serves more than 60 lakh consumers. It supplies power to nearly 12000 villages. The main objectives of the company are to increase the production capacity and bring 24X7 distribution system. It has its focus on widening transmission system.
Job profile: The assistant engineers will be required to work in various departments such as designing of power stations and maintaining them, design of lines, running machines and looking after them, and production of electricity. Support their juniors and seniors and help in fulfillment of company goals.
Eligibility: Only Indian citizens can apply.
The age required is between 18 and 35 years but relaxations can be granted according to govt. rules.
No. of posts: The posts available are as follows: Computer science – 05, Mechanical – 15, Electronics – 15, Civil – 10 and Electrical – 80. These posts are divided among various categories also and also for Punjab domicile candidates.
Qualification: The candidates with B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc. Engg or an equivalent degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply. PSEB officials with a diploma in respective field and sufficient experience as Technical Subordinates with satisfactory record are eligible. The candidates must have had Punjabi language till matric level and have passed it at the time of sending the applications.
Pay Scale: Pay scale will be Rs. 7750-14500 with an initial start of Rs. 8550 plus allowances.
Selection procedure: There is only a written test to be held. The minimum qualifying marks in the written test is 50% for general and 40% for other categories.
How to apply: The candidates will have to fill up an application form given in the format as on the website. The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 400 (Gen/OBC) and Rs. 100 for SC/ST (for Punjab domicile).The fee is to paid through a DD in favour of Accounts officer/cash, PSEB, and Payable at Patiala. The candidate must write their Name, Father’s name, address, telephone number, date of birth and category on the reverse side of the Demand Draft. The candidates must send their application to POST BAG NO. – 09, Lajpat Nagar Post Office. New Delhi- 24.
Important Dates: Last date to apply is 25.07.09.
