In today’s world just a graduate degree is not enough a post graduate degree is definitely needed and Netaji Subhas Bose Open University (NSOU) is one of the finest State Open University in India. One thing for which this NSOU is renowned is its History. The subject is divided into eight papers covering much of Indian History and even that of the world. Paper 3 covers the history of India from 1885 – 1964, which is the best part of the Indian history since the Independence was achieved during this period.

Paper Pattern and number of questions asked:

The paper is divided into three sections containing four, six and eight questions respectively out of which only 50 % is to be answered i.e. two from the first section, three from the second and four from the last.  The sections are divided according to essay type questions, long questions and short notes.

Division of marks and time allotted:

The exam is of 100 marks and the total time allotted is 4 hours. The first and second section carries a maximum of thirty six marks with each question of eighteen and twelve marks respectively. The third section is of twenty eight marks with questions of seven marks each.
