NET stands for national level test. Candidates, who wish to qualify for university level teaching jobs in India, appear for this examination. The NET on physical education is meant for candidates who desire to become sports professionals in various Indian institutes. In order to qualify this paper one requires to have knowledge about the rules related to various sports, knowledge about the physiology of human body, knowledge about the leadership qualities required in sports etc.  The paper pattern is as such that it thoroughly tests one’s eligibility for the job.

There are four (4) sections in this paper.

Paper Pattern And Number Of Questions Asked:

Questions are provided both in English and Hindi. The paper has 4 sections with a total of 26 questions. Section 1 contains 5 questions based on a reading comprehension. Each question must be answered in 30 words. Section 2 has 15 short answer questions and each of them must be answered in 30 words. Section 3 consists of 5 long answer questions and each question is to be answered in about 200 words. Finally section 4 has one Essay type question which must be answered in about 1000 words.

Division of marks:

The paper is of 200 hundred marks. The 1st section carries 25 marks with questions of 5 marks each, 2nd section is of 75 marks with each question carrying 5 marks, 3rd section is of 60 marks having questions of 12 marks each, and the 4th section is of 40 marks.

Maximum time allotted:

The time duration of the examination is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
