The MCA entrance exam is conducted by the Pune University for candidates aspiring to secure seats in the various institutes offering courses in MCA and M.SC. Moreover, the university offers these courses in several institutes of Maharastra. The Pune University ,which was established in 1948 is highly ranked for its reputation.

To apply for entrance test, the candidate should have completed a bachelor degree in Science or BCA with mathematics at higher secondary level. The candidates who want to join for MSc must be graduates in the same stream. Those who are pursuing their final year can also apply for this test. Normally, the Entrance Exam will be scheduled in the last week of February.

Syllabus of PMET exam

The mathematics division covers the syllabus of set theory, propositional logic, linear algebra, differential calculus, co-ordinate geometry and conic sections, trigonometry, integral calculus, series and sequences, real and complex numbers, polynomials, elementary probability theory, permutations and combinations.

The General aptitude paper consists of quantitative reasoning, high school mathematics and logical reasoning.

The English language paper is designed to test candidate’s knowledge on essay writing, vocabulary, English comprehension, precise and verbal ability.
