PTU MCA 3rd Semester Question Papers

The third semester paper of Master’s in Computer Application is a 60 mark paper. The time duration for the same is 3 hours. The syllabus mainly comprises of topics like Computer System Architecture, Data Structures, Visual Basic Programming, RDBMS-I and Computer Based Optimization Methods.

There are five sections in the paper. The student is supposed to answer one question from each of the sections – A,B,C,D. Section E is compulsory. The students are allowed to use a scientific calculator for the purpose of the exam. Each section from A,B,C,D will have two questions from which the student is expected to write one. There might be internal choices or a question may be divided into two parts

One can get a better idea of the paper by solving the previous years’ papers. Always remember to write the necessary programs and diagrams etc in order to garner full marks. The time limit is sufficient for the number of questions to be answered.

Since the paper is of 60 marks, the other 40 marks will be devoted to project work. The paradigms of assessment on the two vary greatly. It is very important to have precise and structured answers to garner a good score.
