Probationary Officers - State Bank of Patiala
State Bank of Patiala came into existence in the year 1917 and the bank was previously called as Patiala State Bank. The bank is owned by the state government and it was established with the objective of fostering growth of industry, trade and agriculture. The name of the bank was changed as Bank of Patiala and it became the subsidiary of the State Bank of India in the year 1960 after which the bank got its present name.

SBI calls for applications from eligible candidates for filling up the vacancy of Probationary Officer for its subsidiary bank State Bank of Patiala.
Name of the position: Probationary Officer
Number of Vacancies: 1373 (180 for SC, 205 for ST, 337 for OBC, 23 for OH, 22 for VH and 606 for General)
Number of years of probation: Two years
Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Probationary Officer in State Bank of Patiala will be getting a starting pay of Rs. 14500, which comes under the pay scale of Rs. 14500-25700 (junior management grade scale I pay scale). Candidates will also be eligible to receive other allowances and therefore initial pay in metropolitan cities would be around Rs.23520. This includes CCA, HRA and DA permissible for probationary officers.
Eligibility:
Educational Qualification: Candidates must be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university/institution to apply for the post of Probationary Officer.
Age: Candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 30 years of age, they should have born between 02.06.1981 and 01.06.1990. Application fee and postage:
Candidates will have to deposit an application fee of Rs.500, which includes application and postage charges (Rs. 50 only for reserved category candidates) in any SBI branches between 2nd June and 23rd June 2011.

How to apply:
The aforesaid application fee must be paid in any of the branches of SBI after downloading the cash voucher from the website of SBI and application must be done online through the bank’s website.

Dates for online registration – Online registration should be made before the 25th of June 2011.
