Pay scale for Probationary Officer in Government Jobs

Eligibility requirement for the position of Probationary Officer:

Normally, most of the banks require that candidates must be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university. However, some banks require that candidates must have secured a specific percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. As far as age requirement for this position is concerned, candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 28 years of age.

Selection procedure:

Public sector banks conduct written test for recruitment of candidates to the position of Probationary Officer. The written test is conducted for the purpose of testing the reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English language and general & computer awareness skills of the candidates.

Normally, candidates appointed for the position of Probationary Officers are offered with the responsibility of looking after the administrative work or general banking work or any other work assigned to him/her by the higher authorities from time to time.

Scope of the position of Probationary Officer:

Normally, the term probationary officer denotes the probationary period for which the newly appointed candidate will be serving the position. On successful completion of this probationary period, the candidate will be posted to a normal banking position irrespective of whether as a cashier, an accountant, etc…Therefore, getting an opportunity to serve in this position is like getting an entry ticket to the dream banking job in any of the nationalized banks in India.
