Pakuahat Degree College is an institution established with the objective of working towards the educational upliftment of the backward and rural poor people of the Malda District in the state of West Bengal. The college came into existence in the year 1997 on the 04th of September and it is approved by the University Grants Commission and affiliated to the University of Gour Banga.

Eligibility Criteria:

For getting into the honors courses offered by the college, candidates must have completed their higher secondary education from the West Bengal Higher Education Board or any other equivalent board with English as a subject. They must have secured not less than 45% of aggregate marks in the qualifying examination or 50% of marks in concerned subject with 40% of aggregate marks. In the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category, the minimum qualifying aggregate mark is 40% or 35% of aggregate marks with 50% of mark in the particular subject in which the candidate is seeking admission.

For getting admission to the general courses, candidates must have completed their 10+2 with English as a subject from the Higher Education Board of West Bengal or other recognized board.

Admission Procedure & reservation:

Admission of students to the honors and general courses offered by the Pakuahat Degree College is done purely according to the norms laid by the affiliating university. However, according to the rules of the Government of West Bengal, 6% of total seats and 22% of total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to ST and SC category respectively for each course.
