Engineering provides lots of job to the eligible students. Mechanical is the core branch of engineering and most of jobs are there for a mechanical engineer. The sectors of this branch are very vast and it will never go off the demand.

Paper Pattern:

Questions asked in the paper mainly contain the theoretical questions but some questions are also asked from the numerical section. Total questions in the paper are 8 and 5 from it is to be solved. 4 questions are of very long answer type questions and 4 are divided into two sub-questions. Each question carries equal marks. The paper contains a lot of questions on the principles and basic laws of surface engineering.  In every question, answers should be given to the point.

Frequently asked questions:

Questions asked in the paper are of subjective type. Most questions in the paper are of theoretical part, questions asked are on hole basis and shaft basis system of assembly, various instruments used for flattening of a surface plate, pneumatic instruments and their uses as comparator and internal or external limit gauging, functions of micrometer dial, lathe machine tool and its functions, surface cleaning, chemical cleaning etc. All questions in the paper are of long answer type.

Total marks and time allotted:

Maximum marks in the paper which can be obtained are 80 and time allotted for it is 3 hours only. Each question is of 16 marks and some questions are further divided into 8-8 marks.
