University profile: This University was established in the year 1982. It has a variety of courses to offer in agricultural sciences, technology and research. Its main objectives are to cater to the needs of research, education and training requirements of the state.

Job profile: The responsibilities of the professors will be to impart quality education and knowledge to their students in different agriculture related and technological departments. They will be required for imparting perfection in their desired field and help them in their projects and queries. They will also be required to assist the students with their laboratory work.

Eligibility: A candidate must not exceed the age of 55 years. However, relaxation can be claimed.

Educational Qualifications: For professors and chief scientists – A candidate must have a Doctorate degree in the concerned field and a minimum of 12 years experience in teaching or research. For Associate professors/Senior scientists – A candidate must have a Doctorate degree with 7 years of experience. For Assistant professors/Junior scientists – A candidate must have a Doctorate degree/Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years experience.

No. of posts: There are 70 posts in total which includes 16 for professors and 16 for senior scientists, 15 for associate professors/senior scientists and 23 for assistant professors/junior scientists.

Pay scale: The pay scale for professor/senior scientists is Rs16400-22400, for assistant professors/senior scientists is Rs12000-18300 and for assistant professors/junior scientists is Rs8000-13500.

Selection process: The candidates have to appear for an interview. The selection will be based on the performance of a candidate during the interview and educational qualifications/experience.

The candidates have to send the attested copies of supporting documents and a DD of Rs1200 (if the form is attained from registrar’s office) and Rs1500 (if the form is downloaded) in the favor of Comptroller SKUAST of Jammu.
