Due to liberalization in the Indian Market, many foreign companies have entered India and this has opened up wide range of choice for the Indian consumers. These products include wide range of clothes, cosmetics, automobiles, households and more particularly electronic items. To meet this heavy competition, manufacturers are looking for offering the best quality product and manufacturers with popular brand name are looking for ways to properly manage their brand names.
The process of branding begins with the development of a new product together with the comprehensive plan for making it an integral part of the life of consumers. Therefore, to begin with the process a market survey can be conducted for assessing the sentiments of the consumers. Next step is to assert the identity of the brand by telling the consumers as to how the brand name is going to fulfill their needs. The whole process is rounded off by aggressive campaigning and promotion with the help of different media forums and otherwise to create an awareness among the consumers. As mentioned earlier, Brand management becomes highly essential and it is all about dressing up and refining up a particular product in such a way that it finds a permanent place in the minds of consumers.
Educational qualification requirement:
To become a brand manager, candidates must possess MBA with specialization in marketing. They cannot become brand managers all of a sudden, rather they should begin their career as a member of the sales team and after two or three years of good performance in the sales team, they will be promoted as product manager or assistant brand manager on the basis of their performance and finally might be posted as brand managers. There might be heavy competition in posting a person as assistant brand manager or product manager from a team of sales personnel. Therefore, only a person showing good performance as a member of a sales team can climb in the ladder taking towards the position of brand manager.
