The commission came into existence by merging Hyderabad Public Service Commission and Andhra Public Service Commission. Before, it became a separate entity in the year 1956, the commission was working under the Madras Public Service Commission.

Eligibility requirements:

Educational Qualification: To apply for the position of Junior Stenographers in A.P. Secretariat Sub-service, candidates must be UG degree holders from an university incorporated or established in India under provincial Act or Central Act or an institution recognized by the UGC or any other equivalent qualification. A pass in shorthand and typewriting in lower grade in Telugu and a pass in shorthand and typewriting in lower grade English are also essential.

Age: Minimum age limit to apply for the position of Junior Stenographer in A.P. Secretariat sub-services is 18 years and the maximum age requirement is 34 years as on the 1st of July 2011. Mode of selection:

For the position of Junior Stenographer in A.P. Secretariat sub-services, candidates will be selected based on the marks secured by them in the written examination, which should be taken up only by the candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements. Application fee:

All candidates will have pay Rs.25 towards application processing fee and candidates who are not exempted from payment of fee will have to pay Rs.80 towards examination fee. Candidates will have to pay the fee in any online centres of AP/SBI and should obtain fee payment challan. The last date for payment of fee is 19th December 2011.

Interested candidates meeting the eligibility requirement will have to apply online from the website of APPSC at www.apspsc.gov.in from 22nd November 2011 to 21st December 2011.
