Central Board of Secondary Education is a governmental board of education for Public and Private schools. The board has its headquarter located at New Delhi. Ministry of Human Resource and development is the parent organization of the board. The first ever education board set up in the country was Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education. Later a joint board was set up in the year 1929 named Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana. Later it was renamed as Central Board of Secondary Education. Mr. Vineet Joshi is the Chairman of the board.
