Clerks, Probationary Officer, and Specialist Officer are the most common job profiles a fresh candidate can pursue in nationalized banks. Banks carry out a tough screening process to select suitable candidates for these job positions. From these entry level jobs they can get into higher positions in the respective banks through departmental exams.
Procedure to find clerical job in Nationalized Banks
Interested candidates with desired qualifications should go through a selection procedure to become a bank clerk. Selection procedure normally comprises of a written exam followed by an interview. IBPS acts as the central authority for conducting common written exams in behalf of 19 public sector banks of the country. Those who qualify in this written exam will be issued with a score card. Then according to the score obtained in the written exam, one can apply for different banks (each bank has a specific eligibility for applying). Then they have to clear an interview round conducted by respective banks.
Procedure to get in to Probationary Officer post in Nationalized Banks
Graduation in any stream is the required qualification to apply for the post of Probationary Officer. IBPS often conducts common written exams for recruiting candidates in to P.O job profiles. These exams are scheduled two times a year. One can apply to these exams through the authorized web portals of the exam conducting authority. Alike CWE for clerical, those who score well in the written test are issued with a scorecard. Score card holders should pass the recruitment process of each participating bank to get final selection. Other than IBPS, certain other banks also carry out recruitment of PO through their own entrance tests.
Procedure to become Specialist Officer Post in Nationalized Banks
Specialist Officer Exams are carried out for selecting aspirants for job positions in specialized areas with in banking like IT, Agriculture, HR, Marketing, etc. Professionals who are qualified and experienced in the specific area are often considered for this job profile. For example B.Tech degree holders in areas of CS/IT/EC etc are considered for IT Officer post where as degree holders in agriculture or allied subjects are considered for Agriculture Officer Post. One can apply to this post through the official portal of IBPS or via the official portal of the bank that carry out the exam. Those candidates who have a good score card can go for the final round of selection with the respective banks.
