Bachelor of Fine Arts is an undergraduate programme designed for candidates having interest in the areas of fine arts such as drawing, visualization etc. The course is also known as Bachelor of Visual Arts. It covers areas such as acting, computer animation, creative writing, dramatic writing, drawing, visual effects, interior design, photography, sculpture and stage management etc. In India almost all universities offer BFA course. Unlike all other under graduate programmes, the duration of BFA course is 4 years. Eligibility

Candidates who have completed their higher secondary studies in any discipline are eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Fine Arts course. Some universities ask for a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate as the eligibility criteria. Some colleges conduct entrance aptitude test for this course followed by interview. Entrance test is conducted to measure the natural interest of the candidates towards the subject.

Course details

There are several branches in fine arts degree course and the candidates can select their own choice of specialization. Some universities follow semester system while others conduct the course in yearly mode. They covers basics of the fine arts in the first year and from second year onwards the candidates can focus on their specializations. Scope and future prospects of BFA course

Fine arts is a vast subject having many future options. Candidates can either go for career options or higher studies. Interested candidates can do post graduate programme in fine arts. Job opportunity is abundant for fine arts graduates in many areas. Aspirants can look for job opportunities in advertising companies, art studios, fashion designing, photography and product designing etc  Graduates can start their career as freelancers, art director, web designer, graphic designer, copy writer and visualizer etc. Experienced professionals can become senior artist or agency manager with a remuneration of Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 3,60,000/- per annum.
