Scientist, Institute of Cytology and Preventive Oncology
Institute profile: It was established in the year 1989 under Indian council of Medical Research. The main aim of the institute is to promote research in field of cancer and its prevention and detection. It is a premier research and development institute which also carries research in the fields such as Epidemiological, Behavioral, Clinical, Cytomorphological, Cytogenetics, Biochemical and Virological sciences etc.
Job profile: The scientists will be required to work in the gynaecological oncology, molecular oncology and genetics departments. They will be required to carry out research work in these fields, assist in the ongoing clinical works and projects and also in designing projects etc.
Educational Qualifications:
For the scientist ‘B’ (Gynaecological Oncology) – A candidate must be an MBBS recognized by MCI with M.D in the concerned department with a minimum experience of 3 years in research work.
For the scientist ‘C’ (Molecular Oncology) – A candidate must have the MBBS degree or a Master’s degree in biotechnology/biological sciences and a minimum experience of 4 years in the concerned field.
For the Scientist ‘C’ (Cytogenetics/Molecular Genetics) – A candidate must have the MBBS degree or a Master’s degree in molecular biology/molecular genetics/microbiology/virology with a minimum experience of 4 years in the concerned field.
No. of posts: There posts are not specified but the post for the scientist ‘D’ is for OBC category.
Pay scale: The pay scale will be Rs15600-39100 but the grade pay for a scientist ‘B’ will be Rs5400 and that for a scientist ‘C’ will be Rs6600.
Selection process: The candidates will have to appear for an interview. They will also be selected on the basis of their education and experience.
