Indian School of Mines- Dhanbad has invited applications for MBA program. Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is the minimum educational qualification. Admission is carried out on the basis of scores obtained in CAT exam.

Eligibility Criterion

Candidates who have completed Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University are eligible to apply for the MBA program. They should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination so as to be eligible. Candidates who are belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and differently abled categories are required to secure a minimum of 45% marks in qualifying examination for being eligible. Candidates who have completed graduation in Honours are required to secure the minimum qualifying marks. Those who have completed Bachelor of Technology or Engineering or Post Graduation in any subjects will be given additional preference.

Selection Procedure

Admission to the course is carried out on the basis of scores obtained in national level entrance examination such as Common Admission Test (CAT). Candidates will be short listed on the basis of marks obtained in CAT exam. Short listed candidates will be called for group discussion. Candidates are required to speak about a common topic in this group discussion. Their communication skill as well as knowledge about the topic will be evaluated during group discussion. Those who have secured the minimum marks in group discussion will be called for personal interview. Final selection will be based on the composite score obtained by the candidates in qualifying examination, CAT exam, group discussion as well as performance in personal interview.

Maximum seat allowed in the institute is 62 for a batch. The institute follows the reservation policy issued by Government of India in seat distribution. Those who are applying for reservation under Scheduled caste/ Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward classes are required to submit a valid proof issued by the competent authority at the time of interview.

Application Procedure

Candidates who wish to apply for MBA program in Indian School of Mines are required to apply online from the official website of the Institute. They are required to pay application fee of Rs. 2000/-. Application fee can be paid by taking a Demand Draft in favor of Registrar, Indian School of Mines and payable at Dhanbad. Candidates are required to provide details about educational qualification and address for communication in online application form. Those who have successfully submitted the online application form are required to take print out of completed application form. Copy of filled in application form and details of fee payment should be sent to Deputy Registrar (Exam & Academic), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad  – 828206, Jharkhand within stipulated time.
