MAHE Papers
The Manipal Academy of Higher Education conducts the UGET every year. It is an all India written entrance test for admission to courses in Medicine and dentistry i.e. M.B.B.S and B.D.S. In June 1993 MAHE was granted the status of a deemed university. It is the first institute in private sector to be recognized by the Indian government.
Examination Pattern:
The exam consists of two question papers. The questions are multiple choice types.
Paper I consists of Physics, Chemistry and English & Aptitude. The first two subjects carry 60 marks each while English & Aptitude carries 40 marks.
Paper II consists of Biology only. The questions are again multiple choice types and it carries 80 marks.
So the total marks are 240.
The questions are set in English only.
There is a provision for negative marking.
Syllabus::
The syllabus for the test papers in Physics, Chemistry, General English and Biology is the standard syllabus of 10+2 followed by the major boards of the country.
As there is a provision for negative marking students should be careful about answering the questions. They should not answer the questions about which they are not much sure. Only one circle is to be darkened for each answer. Marks should be dark enough and the entire circle should be filled up. Multiple darkening is treated as a wrong answer. Only 2B pencils are to be used while marking the optical mark sheet. Rough work should not be done on the answer sheet. No stray marks should be made on the answer sheet.
