Management courses are gaining importance all over the nation among the future citizens of the nation and this fact is applicable to the state of Karnataka as well. The state has good number of management institutions that offer admission to candidates with degree in any discipline.

Even though, admission is offered to students with any degree, preference is given to candidates with Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Some of the colleges in Karnataka have their own department of Management and some colleges confer MBA degree through the Department of Commerce, which confers MBA along with M. Com, B. Com and BBA.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates to the MBA course in the state of Karnataka is done based on merit secured by candidates in XAT, ATMA, MAT, CAT, PGCET and KMAT Examination. Of these examinations, KMAT examination belongs to the state of Karnataka and it stands for Karnataka Management Aptitude Test.

Eligibility requirement to apply to K-MAT Examination:

To apply to the K-MAT Examination, candidates must have completed their UG degree from a recognized university with not less than 50% of aggregate marks. This examination is conducted by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association located in the city of Seshadripuram  in the city of Bangalore. This examination will have questions to test the basic aptitude, mathematical skills and language comprehension of the candidates and it conducted either for MBA alone or as combined test for MCA and MBA.
