PG holders from any recognized University with at least 55% marks can secure admission to Ph.D (Business Management) in Dr. D. Y. Patil University. Only 15 seats are available for admission in each batch. Selection of eligible candidates to this limited number of seats is done on the basis of written exam, presentation, and interview.


Eligibility Criterion for Ph.D (Business Management) in Dr. D. Y. Patil University

Master degree holders with a minimum of 55% marks are eligible to seek admission. In case of reserved category candidates, the qualifying marks required is 45%. Master degree obtained can be part time (three year) or full time (two year). Professionals working in research, teaching or industry with this qualification can also register for Ph.D program, without affecting their career.

Admission Procedure for Ph.D (Business Management) in Dr. D. Y. Patil University

Selection of eligible candidate from the pool of applicants is done through a 3 step process.

  • Written Exam
  • Presentation
  • Interview

Only 30% weightage is given for written exam, while calculating total marks. Remaining 70% marks is proportionally distributed for presentation and interview.

Application Procedure for Ph.D (Business Management) in Dr. D. Y. Patil University

Eligible candidates interested in pursuing Ph.D (Business Management) from the University should collect the application form, as the first step. Application form can be collected through any of the following methods.

  • University Website

Application fee for attending the exam is Rs. 1500/-. This should be paid as DD or cash (directly at the office counter). Demand draft taken must be payable at Mumbai and it must be taken in favor of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Department of Business Management.

Filled up application form along with DD should reach the University office before specified date. Along with the application form candidate must also bring along the following documents.

  • All Mark Certificates (attested copies)
  • Residence Proof
  • Two passport sized photographs

Once the candidate are selected, they will be intimated through email and/or post. At the time of joining, candidate should reach the departmental office (in person) along with the following documents.

  • Domicile Certificate
  • Migration Certificate
  • Original Mark Certificates
  • Proof of Residence
  • The First Year Fees
  • Transfer Certificate

After verification of original certificates and fee payment for first year, candidates can register for the course. Course fee accounts to Rs. 75,000/- per annum. Apart from this, candidate needs to pay of Rs. 5000/- as enrollment fee and Rs. 2000/- as library Fees.
