B.Sc or B.Sc (Hons) graduates in subjects like Botany or Biological Sciences become eligible to apply for M.Sc Botany in Delhi University. Apart from this, general B.Sc graduates or those who have done B.Sc course in Life Sciences can also apply, provided they must have scored at least 60% marks in this level. Admissions are done on merit basis or through entrance test. Those who have obtained the required qualification from Mumbai University can seek admission on merit basis, where others need to qualify entrance test for selection.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc Botany Admission in Delhi University

Candidates need to complete either B.Sc or B.Sc (Hons) degree in Botany or Biological Sciences from any recognized university to apply. It is essential to obtain at least 50% marks or more at graduation level to apply for the same. On the other hand, those candidates who have pursued a general B.Sc program or B.Sc in Life Sciences are also eligible to apply, provided they pass the exam by obtaining a minimum of 60% marks.

Admission Procedure for M.Sc Botany in Delhi University

The admission procedure for this course will involve two main procedures -

  • For those candidates who have qualified B.Sc in Botany from any of the Universities other than Delhi University need to attend an entrance examination. This entrance exam is organized by the concerned subject department of Delhi University. The entrance exam basically covers subject based questions. The total duration of the entrance examination is 3 hours. The pattern of the entrance examination cover both objective and short answer type questions based on the syllabus of B.Sc degree.
  • For those candidates who have obtained a B.Sc (Hons) degree from Delhi University needs to undergo a merit based selection process. The marks obtained by candidates in B.Sc level will be considered for giving admission for these candidates.

Application Procedure for M.Sc Botany Admission in Delhi University

Candidates can obtain the Information Bulletin along with the application form from the Office of the Faculty of Science, Delhi University. It is essential for candidates to take a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 200/- on behalf of Registrar, University of Delhi as application fee. The DD amount needs to be paid at any of State Bank of India branches in Delhi. Candidates need to fill in the specified application form with correct details. It is essential to send the application form along with specified educational documents to the concerned address within the last date specified.
