The Agricultural College, Aswaraopet was established in the year 1989 for imparting agricultural education and for taking up extension activities for the overall development of farming community covering the districts of Nalgonda, Warangal and Khammam of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The college is located at a distance of about 114 kms away from Khammam on Hyderabad – Rajhamundry State Highway.

Courses offered:

Right from its inception, the college has been offering Bachelor of Science in Agriculture course with an annual intake capacity of 30 students per year and subsequently its admission capacity has increased to 55 students per year. During the educational year 2002-03, the admissions to B. Sc agriculture course was stopped with the introduction of four year B. Sc (horticulture) course with an intake capacity of 20 students per year. From the educational year 2004, the intake capacity of B. Sc (horticulture) was increased from 20 to 30.

Placement Cell:

The college is running a placement cell and the assistant professor of department of statistics & mathematics is offering guidance to the B. Sc horticulture graduates for higher studies and employment. A good number of students of the college were selected for the position of Assistant Professor in the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University and many other students of the college are working in agricultural input companies and seed production companies in different capacities, as agricultural officers in state departments of agriculture and as rural development officers in different nationalized banks.

College library and hostel:

Library at Agricultural College is equipped with 4550 college books, 2 foreign journals, 40 Indian journals, 40 periodicals inclusive of 1000 SC/ST books, 95 CD ROMs, computer priority and internet facility in three systems. The library has libsus software system that are arranged in subject-wise open accession system. There are two hostels in the campus one for girls and one for boys with names as Sabari and Kinnera respectively.
