The AMIETE entrance exam is conducted for the admission of candidates into Engineering and Telecommunication courses. Degree and Diploma Level exams are conducted. The exam is carried out annually in the months of June & December.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are applying for the degree level exam should have finished their class 12 exam with Mathematics and Physics or must have a diploma in Electronics engineering/ Electrical engineering/Computer Science/Physics. Candidates who are appearing for the test must be atleast 16 years of age. Those who are writing the Diploma level exam must have a pass in class X or it’s equivalent or should be studying for higher degree in Physics/Mathematics/ITI. The aspirants should not be more than 14 years at the time of applying. Work experience in a related field would also be preferred.

Application Procedure

Offline Application

Students can obtain the application form either directly or through post. They can buy the form along with the prospectus, question papers and syllabus by cash payment of Rs. 250/- at the office of the institute. Those who wish to receive their form through post can send a request letter along with a DD of Rs. 250/- taken in the name of the AMIETE. The completed application form along with the requisite documents should be sent to The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi. Two self addressed envelopes should be attached to it. Candidates should indicate the details of the course and stream of their preference on top of the envelope.

Filling the Application Form

A few important things to be noted by the candidate:

• The candidate should read the prospectus thoroughly before filling the form
• The candidate should fill the form in block letters only. They should be careful not to overwrite.
• Candidates need to check whether they have the prospectus, application form, admit card and acknowledgment card.
• Candidates should make sure that the preference is indicated on top of the envelope.
• The filled form has to be sent along with the documents mentioned in the prospectus.
