Punjab Police emerged as a separate organization after the year 1849 and it has been existing for more than 150 years now. The Punjab police is responsible for policing in the state of Punjab and its mission is to prevent and detect crime and maintenance of law and order in the state.

Punjab Police invites applications from both male and female candidates for the position of Assistant Intelligence Officer and the details of the notification issued for this position are given below:

Name of the positions: Assistant Intelligence Officer

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 50, which is divided as follows:

• General – 25

• SC/ST – 11

• BC – 05

• Ex-servicemen – 6

• Wards of Police Personnel – 1

• S/M - 2

Pay Scale: Pay Scale is Rs.5910-20200 plus GP of Rs. 3000 (according to new pay scales of Government of Punjab). However, pay will be admissible for appointed candidates as per Punjab Civil Service Rules.

Place of Duty: Selected candidates can be deputed anywhere within India or even abroad, to carry out the works given by the DGP of Punjab.

Eligibility:

Nationality/Citizenship: To apply for the position of Assistant Intelligence Officer, candidates must be Indian citizens.

Age requirement: To apply for the position of Assistant Intelligence Officer, candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 25 years of age. Upper age relaxation of five years is admissible to SC/ST and candidates belonging to other backward classes as prescribed by the state government of Punjab. Upper age relaxation applicable to Ex-servicemen is three years plus number of years of service rendered in the defense forces.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their graduation as on the 1st of January 2011 or its equivalent from a recognized university. It is compulsory that candidates must have completed their matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the subjects from a recognized board.

Selection Procedure:

The selection process for both male and female candidates will include physical measurements and physical efficiency test.
