Gandhigram Rural Institute was established under the Government of India. The institute actually came into existence in the year 1956. The institute was granted the status of Deemed University in the year 1976. The idea of providing the status of Deemed university to the institute, was of Univerity Grant Commission. The institute was granted the deemed university status under the UGC Act of 1956 by Government of India. The institute provides various courses to its students in the areas like Rural Development, Rural Oriented Sciences, Cooperation, Rural Economics etc.

Job Profile:

Eligible candidates are invited to apply on the vacant posts of Assistant Professor in different departments.Selected candidates will have to teach the following subjects of Tamil, Fine Arts, English, Gandhian Thought and Peace Science, Khadi and Handloom Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Home Science, Biology, Computer Science and Applications, Rural Technology Centre, Applied Geology, Education and Area Planning.

Eligibility:

Candidates are required to have age within the prescribed age limit set for the post of Assistant Professor in Gandhigram Rural Institute. Candidates having age less than prescribed minimum age limit and age more than the prescribed maximum age limit, will not be considered eligible for the respective post.

Educational Qualification:

Post Graduation degree or Master’s degree in relevant subject or field from any recognized institute or university. Candidates possessing experience of some years in the teaching or research field, will get preference over other candidates. Also, candidates not having the prescribed educational qualification are not required to apply for the specified post.

Pay Scale: Candidates will get the prescribed amount of salary as per UGC regulations/norms to be notified by the MHRD/UGC from time to time.

Rs. 500 is the amount of application fee that must be remitted in A/c no. 10000 of Gandhigram Rural Institute-Deemed University with Canara Bank. GRI campus. Candidates can also pay the application fee in the form of a Demand Draft drawn on any nationalized bank (mainly State Bank of India) in favour of The Registrar, Gandhigram Rural Institute- Deemed University, Gandhigram payable at State Bank of India, Ambathurai, Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu.

Selection Process:

The final selections of candidates in Gandhigram Rural Institute will be made through the conduct of a personal interview test. Only qualified candidates of this personal interview test will be considered at the time of final selections on the specified post.
