Bank of India was established in the year 1906 on the 7th of September and the bank was established by a group of eminent businessmen belonging to the city of Mumbai. Until the year 1969, the bank was operating as a private bank and it was nationalized along with 13 other banks in India during the year 1969. The bank began its operations from the city of Mumbai with a paid up capital of Rs.50 lakh and with 50 employees and it has made a rapid growth over these years of its existence.

Recruitment by Bank of India:

Bank of India has invited online applications from eligible candidates for the position of Probationary Officers (General Banking Officers Scale-I) and here are the details regarding the notification issued by bank in this respect:

Name of the Vacancy: Probationary Officers (General Banking Officers Scale I)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 1800, which is divided among different category of candidates as given below:

SC – 286

ST – 184

OBC – 460

General - 870

Of these 1800 posts 18 posts each is reserved for HI, VC and OC Candidates.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be coming under JMG Scale I with Rs.14500-600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700.

Eligibility requirements:

Qualification: Candidates must be graduates in any discipline with at least 60% of aggregate marks from a UGC recognized university.

Age: To apply for the position of Probationary Officers, candidates must be between the age group of 21 and 30 years, a relaxation of five year is applicable for SC/ST candidates, three years is applicable for OBC candidates and 10 years is applicable for PWD candidates. Selection Procedure:

On the basis of number of vacancies, only these candidates securing not less than the minimum stipulated marks in the Common Written Examination conducted by IBPS will be called for interview. Merit list on the basis of CWE score and interview will be used for final selection of candidates.

Cost of application:

Application fee is Rs.200 for general category candidates and SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. Fee should be paid in any branches of Bank of India after downloading the challan form from the website of the bank at http://www.bankofindia.com/career.aspx before the 31st of January 2012. On payment of fee a transaction ID will be given to the candidates, which should be filled in online application form.

How to apply:

Candidates will have to apply online by click on the link called ‘click for apply online’ at http://www.bankofindia.com/career.aspx. The last date for submission of online application is 31st of January 2012. Once the application is submitted online, candidates will have to take a print out of the same and should affix their photograph, which should be brought along with them during interview.
