Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture & Research Institute (PAJANCOA & RI) was set up in the year 1987 at Karaikal. This autonomous educational institution established by the Government of Puducherry is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore.

The college upgraded as a Research Institute in the year 1997. This college works under the control of the PAJANCOA(Karaikal) Society. The institute aims in providing agricultural education as well as in meeting the agricultural research needs of the Union Territory of Puducherry.
