The institute was established in the year 1995 by the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab. The institute was established with the aim of producing trained proessionals in the arena of Textile and Garment Industry. Dr. S. S. Channy is the current chairman of the institute (He is also the Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab).

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for filling up the faculty position of Assistant Professor. Candidates will have to serve the institute at Mohali and its centre at Ludhiana and Jalandhar. Educational Qualification: Undergraduate or Post Graduate degree in Fashion Design from NIFT or NIIFT or any other reputed institute with atleast 3 years of relevant experience.

2. Recruitment of Assistant Professor (Garment Construction):

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Clothing & textiles or Fabric & Apparel Science from a National or International institute with atleast 3 years of relevant experience.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor (Industrial Pattern Maker):

Educational Qualification: Diploma from NIFT or any other recognized institute with atleast 3 years of experience in teaching or research field.
