Assistant Station Master – How to become an Assistant Station Master?
Assistant Station Master is one of the highest officials in a railway station. They are responsible for supervising every task needed to perform in a railway station. It is their duty to ensure the safe arrival and departure of trains to and from a particular railway station. There many technical and non-technical staffs in a railway station for performing necessary tasks. Assistant Station Master manages these staffs for the efficient functioning of a railway station.
Qualifying Exam
Railway Recruitment Board conducts an examination for recruiting eligible candidates to the position of Assistant Station Master in Indian Railway. Those who have completed their graduation in any discipline can write this exam in order to get into the post of assistant station master. Diploma in Rail Transport and Management from the institute of Rail Transport will be considered as an additional qualification for this job. Necessary training will be given for the candidates who are selected for this job. After that they will be posted on any railway station along with the station master. Sometimes independent charge of a small railway station will be given for the trained candidates.
Who are eligible to apply?
Graduates can only apply for the exam conducted for recruiting candidates to the assistant manager. Graduation can be completed in any discipline as desired by the candidates. Those who have passed plus two or its equivalent examination can pursue graduation in any discipline. Age limit is also specified for this exam which is between eighteen and thirty three years. Interested candidates can pursue diploma course in Rail Transport and Management at the institute of Rail Transport after graduation as this diploma will be considered as an additional qualification.
