State Bank of India is considered as one of the largest banking and financial services company which has its headquarter located at Mumbai. It is a state owned bank. The bank actually came into existence on July 1, 1955. The bank is famous for providing a range of banking products through its vast network of branches spreaded all over in India and overseas. Mr. Pradip Chaudhary is the current chairman of the bank. There are apprimately 16 thousand branches of bank, and is therefore considered as the bank with the largest banking branch network in India.
Job Profile:
State Bank of India is inviting online applications from eligible Indian Nationals for filling up the vacant clerical posts i.e. Assistants and Stenographers in Central Recruitment & Promotion Department. Those candidates who applied eariler (i.e. in earlier advertisement of December 2011) can edit their details. The vacancies are available in the circle of Ahmedabad, Delhi, North Eastern, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Patna, Chennai and Kerala.
Eligibility:
Candidates should be born between 30 November 1983 and 1 December 1993 only.
The minimum age limit set for the Clerical posts is 18 years as on 1 December 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the Clerical posts is 28 years as on 1 December 2011.
Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to the candidates belonging to reserved categories (i.e. Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes etc).
Educational Qualification:
Candidates are required to possess the prescribed educational qualification as mentioned below:
12th passed or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized board, or
Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized institute or university.
Candidates should have knowledge of local language as it will be considered as additional qualification. Fluency in English language is also desirable for both the posts.

Clerical Posts- Assistant: 8500 post are available.

Clerical Posts- Stenographers: 1000 posts are available.
(General- 537, SC-137, OBC-250, ST-137 and PH-175)
Pay Scale:
Clerical Posts- Assistant: Consolidated salary of Rs. 7200-19300 per month.
Clerical Posts- Stenographers: Consolidated salary of Rs. 7200-19300 per month.
Application Fee:
Rs. 350 is the amount of application fee required to be paid by candidates for the posts of Assistants.
Rs. 500 is the amount of application fee required to be paid by candidates for the posts of Assistants + Stenographer (Hindi or English).
Rs. 600 is the amount of application fee required to be paid by candidates for the posts of Assistants + Stenographer (both Hindi and English).
The application fee should be paid in cash in any branch of State bank of India with the help of a payment challan which can be downloaded from the website of bank.
How to apply: Applications must be made online at State Bank of India website. Candidates will be allowed to apply online from 5 March 2012 onwards only. Candidates should apply online on or before the last date for receipt of online application.
