Banaras Hindu University is one of the finest universities in the country. The University has already made its mark in the national and international levels. BHU conducts entrance examination in Bachelor of Arts in order to admit the qualified candidates for the course.

Structure of Banaras Hindu University B.A.(Hons.) Arts Entrance Exam

The entrance examination in B.A conducted by Banaras Hindu University comprises of only a single paper. It consists of 200 questions. The candidates have to mark the correct answers in the provided OMR sheet. If the answer is correct the candidate is awarded with four marks. For each incorrect answer one mark will be reduced.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates have to pass the higher secondary examination that has been conducted by any of the recognized boards in order to apply for the B.A (Hons) Arts entrance examination.

How to Apply?

The application forms can be downloaded from the Website of Banaras Hindu University. It can also be purchased form the Office of the Director, Institute of Arts, Banaras Hindu University by paying an amount of Rs. 100/- as demand draft. In this case the candidates can obtain the application forms through post. The DD should be send along with a self addressed envelope. After filling the application forms, it should be sent to the Institute of Arts, Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi – 221005. The candidates those who belong to the general category must pay an application fess of Rs 1600/- where as the SC/ST candidates need to pay only an amount of Rs 1000/- as the application fees.

The candidates have to fill the application forms by hand without any errors. Check whether all the relevant information have been entered in the appropriate spaces before sending it to the concerned address.

Study Plan

Start Early:  The key to perform well in the examination is to start preparing early for the examination. Plan for short and frequent study sessions. The candidate can perform well in an examination if he spend one hour for studying each day rather than spending 10 hours for two days just before the examination.

On Cramming: Don’t try to focus on new information just before the examination. Instead of that revise the portions that you have already studied. If you have a handful of days before the examination, spread the studying so that the candidates do not stay awake the last night before the examination.
