This entrance test is conducted by Banaras Hindu University for admitting candidates to the post graduation course in Physics. Candidates having eligible score in this test will get admission to this two year course.

Structure of Banaras Hindu University M.Sc Physics Entrance Exam

There will be one hundred and fifty questions with multiple choices of answers having duration of one hundred and fifty minutes. Questions in this exam will be asked from the subjects studied at graduate level and it will carry a maximum of four hundred and fifty marks.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess B.Sc or B.Sc (Hons) degree in concerned subject with 50% aggregate to become eligible to apply for the test. SC/ST candidates will become eligible if they possess only pass marks in the qualifying examination. Five percentage of relaxation in marks will be given to OBC and physically challenged candidates.

How to Apply?

Applicants can obtain the application form with information bulletin from the Entrance Test Cell, Office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU, Varanasi - 221 005. It should be bought with Rs. 50/- .They can also receive the forms with information bulletin through post. For this, applicants need to take a MICR Demand draft or Banker’s cheque of Rs.100/- from any nationalized or scheduled bank, payable at Varanasi. They should take it in the name of Controller of Examinations, Banaras Hindu University and send along with a self- addressed unstamped envelope to the concerned authority. They should send this along with a written request which mentions the name of the concerned course.

Entrance fee should be paid at any CBS branches of State Bank of India using the challan attached in the information bulletin. Bank will give back the challan mentioning the journal number, date of deposit of money after paying the fee. Applicants should send this challan along with the filled application form to the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Banaras Hindu University. Applicants should submit it within the stipulated date either by hand or through post. Applicants should fill the application number and course code number in the challan before sending it along with the form.

Application forms can be also filled online through the website www.bhu.ac.in.

How to fill the Form?

Forms should be filled with Capital letters using ink or ball point pen. Applicants should personally fill their forms without any errors. Applicant’s Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name and Date of Birth entered into the application form should be same as in the High School or Class X certificate. Affix applicant’s photograph on the box specified for it in the form. Fill all the boxes in the form specified to enter the details of the challan.
