The University of Jammu is one of the reputed universities in North India with seventy five colleges affiliated to it. The university conducts full time B.Ed course having duration of one year. Admission to Bachelor Degree Course in Education is based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination. Candidates who have got a Bachelors Degree in disciplines such as Arts, Science, and Commerce can apply for the admission process. Graduates with a minimum of 45% marks can apply for the course. Application form can be downloaded from the official website of University of Jammu.

Eligibility

Graduation is the basic qualification required to undergo this course. Selected candidates cannot apply for any other course or examination. Candidates having 45 % aggregate marks from the University of Jammu or any other University in India who is member of Association of Indian Universitites are eligible to apply. Reserved category candidates are required to have 40 % of aggregate marks for admission.

Application procedure

Prospectus cum application form can be obtained from the university. Applications should be filled carefully as there is no chance to add, delete or to do any alteration once it is submitted to the university. Candidates are required to submit the following documents along with the application.

  • Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate
  • Marks sheet of Higher Secondary examination.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Provisional Certificate issued by the institution/University.
  • Marks sheets of Bachelor’s Degree examination
  • Category certificate issued by the state government
  • Conduct certificate from the Principle of the college, last attended by the candidate or from Gazetted officer.

Incomplete application form and late submission of the same will not be entertained by the university.

Selection procedure

Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination. Eligible candidates will be selected by the Centralized Admission Committee. The committee is constituted by the Vice Chancellor of the University. There will be separate merit list for the candidates belonging to reserved category. University will give priority for candidates having older age or candidates having better marks in higher secondary exam, in case two or more candidates get equal merit score. Selected candidates will be called for interview for the allotment of college. Allotment will be based on the merit scores and availability of seats in the college.
