Biju Patnaik Institute of Information Technology & Management Studies shortly called as BIITM came into existence in the year 1999 and the college is sponsored by the Gokarneswar Charitable Trust. It is a non-minority, private-self-financing, co-education institution affiliated to the Biju Patnaik University of Technology.

Course Details:

BIITM offers two-year full-time MBA course according to the course curriculum issued by the Biju Patnaik University of Technology. The course covers papers on Information technology, finance, operation management, HR, marketing, economics, general management, etc…

Eligibility:

The minimum educational qualification required for seeking admission to the Master of Business Administration course is a degree from a university approved by the University Grants Commission. Candidates with any degree like Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, engineering courses and Bachelor of Technology are eligible to apply.

Reservation:

The percentage of seats to be reserved for different categories like outside state candidates/NRI candidates/ST/SC/physically handicapped/women candidates is subject to the decision of the state government of Orissa as on the date of admission.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates, who are interested to seek admission to the Biju Patnaik Institute of Information Technology & Management will have to appear for the Orissa Joint Entrance Examination or MAT/XAT/CAT or CET that is conducted by the Orissa Management Association. Any of these scores are taken into consideration for admission of students to the MBA course.

Selection through O-JEE examionation:

Candidates without, XAT/CAT or MAT score will have to take up O-JEE followed by counseling conducted by the Biju Patnaik University of Technology. After admission at O-JEE, candidates will have to report to the institution to register their names within three days.

Selection at institute level:

Some percentage of available seats is filled by the institution itself based on the government norms. In this case, candidates will have to appear for aptitude test, group discussion and personal interview.

Placements:

Biju Patnaik Institute of Information Technology & Management has a placement cell and during the year 2010, 58 companies were invited to conduct campus recruitment for selection of talents from the institution. Companies under different sectors like hospitality, environment, media, FMCG, FMCD, banking, advertising, education and telecommunication visit the institution for campus recruitment.
