B.P.Ed in Physical Education
Bachelor of physical education is an undergraduate degree program granted by some universities. This programme provides excellent opportunities to the sportspersons having outstanding sports career. With the help of this programme students are able to explore diverse areas like exercise and sport science, outdoor education, dance, teaching and learning, sport and leisure studies, exercise prescription and management, etc. This programme helps students to develop attitudes, interpersonal and communication skills, pedagogical understanding in order to gain knowledge, critical thinking, etc so as to enable them to work as a professional health and physical educator.
Eligibility:
In order to take admission to this course, students must be medically fit as well as free from any deformity. Aspiring candidates should be at least 19 years of age. Graduate from any recognized university securing at least 45% marks. Students belonging to SC/ST category should have at least pass marks. In most of the colleges, admission is based on physical fitness test followed by personal interview, entrance test (written) as well as sports performance.
Course duration:
The duration of this course is about 4 years.
