Chanakya National Law University was established by the Government of Bihar in the year 2006 with a vision to offer quality legal education. The official chancellor of the university is Chief Justice Honorable Justice Miss. Rekha Manharlal Doshit. This University is affiliated by the Bar council of India and recognized by the University grants commission. The aspirants are admitted to the LL.D and Ph.D courses offered by the University on the basis of the score obtained in the Common Law Admission Test.

Structure of Chanakya National Law University LL.D & Phd Entrance Exam

Language Comprehension: The ability of the student to express the ideas in both English and Hindi languages can be determined through Language comprehension test. This section consists of 80 questions from English language and 20 from Hindi language. One mark is awarded for every right answer and 1/3 marks will be reduced for every wrong choice.

General Awareness and Current Affairs: This section helps the examiner in rating the candidate’s knowledge in current affairs. It has a total of 100 questions.

Reasoning, Mental Ability and Legal Aptitude: The third section is structured in such a way to test the mental as well as legal ability of the candidate. There will be a total of 50 questions where each question carries two marks.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have completed Master’s in Law so as to get an eligible seat to do research in the similar field. Doctor of Law (LL.D) is awarded to those people who hold exceptional academic achievements in the field of Law. The reward of a LL.D degree depends on the thesis submitted as a part of the research.

How to apply?

The candidates those to appear for this examination are advised to apply to the Registrar, Chanakya National University on the prescribed format. The application forms can be obtained by paying an amount of Rs. 2000/- by DD. It should be drawn from the state Bank of India or from any other nationalized banks and it must be payable at Patna. The duly filled applications should be submitted at the University office within the stipulated time. The candidate should also submit an outline of the research work as well as a chapter wise plan of the proposed work in 3000 words.

How to fill the Form?

The application forms should be filled up very carefully. Candidates have to go through the instructions given in the examination leaflet thoroughly before start filling up the application form. The name of the candidate, contact details, details of the qualification, date of birth etc has to be filled in the appropriate places without any fail. The specimen signature of the candidate should be made in the given space and it should match with the original documents. A recent passport size photograph should be attached in the appropriate place.
