The LAW course are of two types one is of 5 years duration another is for 3years .

The candidates those who are interested to do after +2 they have to choose 5 years i.e Integrated LAW, For this they have to appear CLAT entrance exam .

Of course you can apply for the law course. However since you have completed 12th, my recommendation would be that you should apply for the integrated law course. The duration of such course is 5 years which would save one year for you.

Generally you need to complete graduation (3 years) followed by LLB (3 years) to become lawyer. But Bar Council of India has introduced another course known as integrated LLB course. It includes a bachelor degree course and LLB. The entire duration of this course is 5 years.

Most universities these days have opted for the integrated LLB course. This course can be pursued after completing 12th. However it is important that the candidate has completed 12th for admission. At the time of applying for the entrance exam known as Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), you will have to show all the documents related to 12th standard.


Integrated LLB Eligibility

1. Candidate must pass Class 12th from a recognized board.

2. Minimum of 50 percent marks in 12th.

3. SC/ST candidate need 45 percent marks.

4. The age limit to apply is 20 years.

5. Age limit for SC/ST is 22 years.

6. The criteria for OBC is same as General candidates.

In case you are not meeting any of these criteria then you should first complete graduation and then apply for the 3 years LLB course.

But for this you will have to appear for CLAT(Common Law Admission Test) Exam.

Yes, you are eligible LLB with 12th commerce

There are basically two ways one can take up LLB. One is the 5 year LLB course after 12th. Another is the 3 year LLB course after a degree. If your aim is to go for an LLB course then joining LLB after 12th is ideal. When thinking logically it is better to join LLB after 12th, as you will not lose one year with 3 years in degree and 3 years in LLB after degree. The basic eligibility to join an LLB course after 12th is to have more than 45% of marks in the board exam in most of the Universities and colleges. If you are planning to join in any of the top colleges like NALSAR, NLSIU or any other biggies then you must have higher percentage of marks. You will also need to qualify in the Common entrance exam for Law.

A candidate should have a minimum qualification as 10+2 for LLB courses.

The duration of Course is 5 years
