30 years for candidates belonging to General Category. 32 years for candidates belonging to Sc/St Category. This is the standard age limit followed by most of the Law Universities in India, however, the relaxation of age for reserved category may vary depending upon the State. |

Re: Maximum age limit for LLB 3 years degree course as per BCI?
Dear friend,
there are no age limits for LLB The minimum qualification required here is you must be a graduate with minimum age of 21 years. Percentage criteria : The candidate must have minimum 50% marks in graduation You must have these criteria also : The LLB is a law course degree. This is a profession where one should have a brilliant communication skill and presentation skill. Law is a set of rules and regulation under which a society or country is ruled. Eligibility Criteria The eligibility criteria for LLB is that one should have a B.A / BSc / B.com degree with a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate and 35% for SC/ST candidates. There is also a 2% Weightage for the post graduate degree holders. For seeking admission in this law course the students have to give an entrance test and a personal interview. |

Re: Maximum age limit for LLB 3 years degree course as per BCI?
LL.B. - BACHELOR OF LAW is a three year under Graduate course and can be pursed after Graduation in any stream from a recognised University.
As per Bar Council of India(BCI) the maximum age limit has been fixed as 30 years for General candidate which is relaxed up to 2 years in case of SC/ST candidate. Some top Law Institutions conduct entrance exam like CLAT(Commom Law Admission Test) for admission to LL.B. course others conduct admission on the basis of marks secured in Graduation level. |

Re: Maximum age limit for LLB 3 years degree course as per BCI?
hi,
The Bar Council of India (BCI), which governs standards of legal education in India, introduced a 20 years age limit for the five-year LLB course and a 30 years age bar for the three-year LLB course from this year. According to me it’s not only unfair, arbitrary, discriminatory but also against the directive principle of Sate policy. I request you to put your views. It is very important issue most of the HR manager wants to purse Law degree after experience in there core field. The move of BCI will not only wash the dreams of many people but it will set wrong example. In near future you will see there is age limit for P.hd thank you |

Re: Maximum age limit for LLB 3 years degree course as per BCI?
Dear friends
As per the Part-IV of Rules of Legal Education Rules notified by the Bar Council of India in 2008, Rule No. 35 the position is as under: 28. Age on admission: (a) Subject to the condition stipulated by a University on this behalf and the high degree of professional commitment required, the maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of integrated Bachelor of law degree program, is limited to twenty years in case of general category of applicants and to twenty two years in case of applicants from SC, ST and other Backward communities. (b) Subject to the condition stipulated by a University, and the general social condition of the applicants seeking legal education belatedly, the maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of Three Year Bachelor Degree Course in Law, is limited to thirty years with right of the University to give concession of 5 further year for the applicant belonging to SC or ST or any other Backward Community. Therefore at present its 30 yrs for Gen category candidate and 35 yrs for SC/ST candidates at the time of admission. Status is same in all the states as LLB is governed by Bar Council of India similar to med education which is governed by MCI. Many people have approached high courts in their home states. After 1 SLP filed in the SC, the court has called all the petitions to itself. Case is on and its details of the case are as under- Transfer petition (civil) number: 537-543/2010, title- Bar Ccouncil of India Vs Raghvendra Rao and others. Regards, Jag Mohan |

Re: Maximum age limit for LLB 3 years degree course as per BCI?
Why is age a criteria by BCI to study law, as a free citizen if you have the academic qualification to pursue law course why is BCI an obstacle for this illogical stand and i dont understand why is the government and HRD ministry silent is such issues.

Re: Maximum age limit for LLB 3 years degree course as per BCI?
The LLB is 3 years long bachelor course of law. If you want to become lawyer then it is important to complete LLB course. The 3 years LLB course is offered by few colleges these days.
Majority of colleges have shifted to BA LLB which is integrated law course. It is combination of bachelor degree and LLB course. This course ends up saving one year of the students. The Bar Council of India has introduced age limit for the LLB course. Earlier there was no age limit for the LLB but Bar Council of India felt that such rule is unfair for the candidates who want to take law as their preferred career option. Bar Council of India believe that priority should be given to candidates who want to take LLB as their preferred career option. This decision was challenged in the court but it was upheld. Below is the eligibility criteria for the LLB course including age criteria. Eligibility 1. You should first complete any graduation degree. 2. Minimum of 45 percent marks should have been scored in graduation. 3. SC and ST need 40 percent marks in graduation to apply for LLB. 4. The maximum age limit is 30 years to apply for LLB. 5. Maximum of 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates. 6. OBC candidates do not get any relaxation. |

No age limit should be for L.L.B study through distance education (in my opinion) because we can study in any subjects at any age. we can study in any stage of age.

how the Chartered accounts getting CA at any time in their life?, why BCI fixing age limit? law is the basic to get at anytime for all citizens of india compare than other studies, I think BCI don't like to get more advocates in india because they thinking their practice getting too much competition.
