Cochin University, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, 3rd Sem., Machine Drawing (ME 303) Papers
Mechanical engineering students of Cochin University during the 3rd semester of the course have to get through Machine drawing paper. The paper is totally based on diagrams and you have to draw a lot when answering the question paper.
Paper pattern
The paper consists of a total of six questions. Out of the six questions, the candidates have to attempt three questions according to the instructions given in the question papers. The question paper does not contain any sections. All the questions that the candidate attempts require a diagram as per the instructions given in the question paper. In certain questions, disassembled parts of the machine will be provided. The candidate has to draw the diagram of the assembled machine. A total of three figures of the disassembled will be printed in the question paper from various angels. The paper is totally descriptive.
Distribution of marks
The paper is for a total of 100 marks. There are six questions in all and the candidates have to attempt three questions. Two questions carry 30 marks. One of the questions carries 40 marks. In case of sub questions within a question, the marks will be divided equally between all the questions.
Duration of the paper
The duration of the paper is four hours. The candidates have to answer the questions by drawing complex diagrams and hence answering the question paper is time consuming unless you practise a lot.
About the subject
This is a subject where you need to answer every question by presenting complex diagrams of various machines. This is one of the most important papers for mechanical engineers and they have to make sure that they practice drawing the diagrams far before the examination. Otherwise they will not be able to produce much on the answer sheet.
