Indo Tibetan Border Police Force is a central armed police force trained in disaster management. The force is also trained in biological, nuclear and chemical disasters. The force was formed on October 24, 1962 and was later restructured in the year 1978 after some addtional responsibilities and tasks were introduced. The force has its headquarter located at New Delhi. Mr. Ranjit Sinha is the Director General of the force. Providing security to the sesitive installations and checking illegal immigration are two of the major functions performed by the force. The force came into existence with the aim of providing security along the country’s border with the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

Job Profile:

Eligible male Indian Citizens are invited to apply for the vacant positions of Constables (Motor Mechanic/Driver) under Group ‘C’ categories in Indo Tibetan Border Police Force. Recruitment of eligible candidates will be made purely on contractual basis only. The posts has all India liability and therefore selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad.

Eligibility:

For the posts of Constable (Motor Mechanic):

The minimum age limit set for the post of Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) is 18 years is 24 February 2012.
The maximum age limit set for the post of Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) is 25 years is 24 February 2012.

For the posts of Constable (Driver):

The minimum age limit set for the post of Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) is 20 years is 24 February 2012.
The maximum age limit set for the post of Head Constable (Motor Mechanic) is 25 years is 24 February 2012.

Upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories candidates as per the rules and regulations of Government of India. SC/ST/OBC/Government Servants candidates will get relaxation in the upper age limit as per rules.

Physical Standards:

Minimum Height for candidates: 170 cms with corelated weight.
Chest: Unexpanded - 80 cms and Expanded - 85 cms.

Medical Standards:

Eye Sight: Candidates should have minimum distant vision of 6/6 and 6/9 without correction.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates are required to possess the minimum educational qualification set for the post i.e. Matriculation or 10th standard from a recognized board.

Constable (Motor Mechanic): Besides Matriculation, candidates should also possess a certficiate from a recognized institute or ITI in Automoile Engineering or Motor Mechanic trade.

Constable (Driver): Candidates are also required to have a valid driving license for Light or Medicum or Heavy vehicles with minimum 2 years experience, in addition to the Matriculation qualification.

No. of posts: Total 560 posts are available.

Constable (Motor Mechanic): 135 posts are available.
(General-57, SC-22, ST-11 and OBC-45)

Constable (Driver): 425 posts are available.
(General-180, SC-154, ST-39 and OBC-52)

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the prescribed amount of salary i.e. Rs. 5200-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2000.

Application Fee:

Rs. 50 is to be paid by the candidates in the form of the non refundable application fee. Only General and OBC candidates are required to pay this application fee. No fee is to be paid by the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. The payment ofthe application fee must be done in the form of a Central Recruitment Fee Stamp or Indian Postal Order or Crossed Demand Draft only. It should be drawn in favour of Inspector General Northern Frontier, ITBP payable at SBI, IMA Dehradun, Code No. 0739.

How to apply: Attested copies of the required certificates, requisite application fee and two self addressed envelopes of 4″*9″ size with Rs. 5 postage stamps affixed on each envelope, are need to be sent alongwith the completely filled in application form. The envelope should be superscribed as “Application for the post of ________________ in ITBP” in bold letters only. Application should reach to the desired address on or before the last date.
