Department of Science and Technology was incorporated in the year 1971 under the Government of India. The major objective behind the establishment of the department was to promote new areas of Science & Technology. The department is mainly known for playing the role of a node department for organising and promoting the science and technology activities in India. One of the major objective of this department is to formulate of policies relating to science and Technology.

Job Profile:

Department of Science and Technology is inviting applications from eligible candidates for preparing a panel of suitable persons for appointment as Data Entry Operators. The recruitment will be made only on contract basis. Candidates will be recruited initially for a period of six months to one year depending on the requirement.

Eligibility:

Candidates belonging to General category should have age in between 18 to 25 years. Upper age limit set for the post is relaxable for SC and ST categories candidates. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for both SC as well as ST categories candidates. Other reserved categories candidates will also get some years of relaxation in the upper age limit.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates should have passed atleast 12th standard or equivalent. Candidates should also possess a typing speed of atleast 40 words per minute on computer. Candidates should have knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access. Preference will be given to the candidates having Graduation or Diploma in Computer Science as their qualification with some years of experience in programming, data entry work etc. Candidates having qualifications less than the above specified, are not eligible for the post.

No. of posts: There are 35 posts available in total. Number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the requirement of Department of Science and Technology.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will get the consolidated salary of Rs. 11000 per month.

Selection Process:

Only suitable candidates will be called for the written as well as personal interview test. The first stage of the selection process includes a written test. Only successful candidates of this written test will be called for the personal interview test on specified date. Candidates are required to qualify in both these test in order to get them selected for the post.
