Dera Natung Government College was established in the year 1979 on the 6th of September with a view to cultivate and seek new knowledge and to offer the right kind of leadership in all walks of life. The college is running under the control of the government of Arunachal Pradesh and it is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University located in the same state. Initially, the college began its functions in the Government Higher Secondary School Building and it was shifted to its present own campus in the year 1986.

Courses offered:

Dera Natung Government College offers courses leading to Bachelor of Arts, Commerce and Science according to the Syllabi prescribed by the Rajiv Gandhi University. The degree courses are offered both under honors and under pass schemes and the first year subjects are common for both honors and pass courses. The college follows non-semester pattern of education and yearly exams are conducted during the months of April or May every year. A student can go to the second year of the degree courses only if he/she is declared as passed in the final examination conducted by the Rajiv Gandhi University.
