The Entrance Examination!!!

You can take any of the common entrance examination for design. Most of the universities and institutes are selecting the candidates depends upon the scores obtained in the entrance examination. There are also institutes conducting their own separate entrance examination for their course. Normally the common entrance examinations are following the same pattern. There will be two stages, the first stage evaluates the candidate’s general ability, creative or managerial ability . The second stage mostly includes the Situational test and group discussion followed by personal interview. Some institutes take the pattern of designing aptitude test followed by studio test and portfolio review.

The final selection of the candidates is made according to the score obtained in the tests and by evaluating the past academic performance and added qualifications.

Normally the general eligibility test carries questions from English language, logical and reasoning and the general knowledge part. The studio test is in a workshop model involves clay modeling, material manipulation, tests in three dimensional aspects etc. The group discussion evaluates the critical thoughts and language proficiency and that of the personal interview for to know the candidate’s confidence, timing and future objective and also the expectation form the industry.
