Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) is conducted by University College of Engineering, Osmania University for admissions to postgraduate courses in Architecture, Engineering, Pharmacy, Technology and Planning. It is a state level common entrance test conducted for admission to PG courses in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Eligibility

  • Candidates should be an Indian national.
  • Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Those who have secured 50% marks in the qualifying examination are eligible to apply. Candidates who belong to the reserved category should have a minimum of 45% in the qualifying examination.

The qualification should be B.E./ B.Tech./ AMIE/ B.Pharmacy/ B.Arch./ B. Planning or an equivalent as confirming to the course to the which the candidate is applying. Those candidates waiting for results and are in the final year can also apply.

There are no separate test papers for interdisciplinary courses. Combinations of the test papers listed under regular and specialized courses are evaluated. Admissions to the interdisciplinary courses are based on the relative ranking or the percentile score of the combination of test papers attended by the candidate.

Examination Details

Candidates are required to apply online. The application fee is Rs 500/- per test paper. SC/ST candidates are required to remit an admission fee of Rs 250/- per test paper. Candidates can apply for more than one test paper.

PGECET is a multiple choice objective based examination. Candidates are required to answer 120 questions in 120 minutes. Each question carries one mark. The medium of examination is English. The appropriate answers have to be marked with HB pencil in the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet provided.

PGECET is conducted in six zones across Andhra Pradesh. The zones and examination centers are as follows:

  • Ananthapur - JNTU College of Engineering
  • Guntur - College of Engineering, Acharya Nagarjuna University
  • Hyderabad - JNTU College of Engineering, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, University College of Engineering (A), Osmania University
  • Tirupathi - Sri Venkateshwara University College of Engineering
  • Visakhapatnam - Andhra University College of Engineering
  • Warangal - University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University
