The Devaswom Board College, Thalayolaparambu is the second educational institution of its kind that came into existence in the year 1965. The institute is managed by the Travancore Devaswom Board and it is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University located in Kottayam.

History of the college:

Initially, the college was affiliated to the Kerala University and later in the year 1983 when the Mahatma Gandhi University was established, the college came under the jurisdiction of this university. The college began its operations as a Junior College with six batches of per-degree classes and a student-strength of 480 students. In the year 1972, the college was upgraded as degree college with the introduction of BA in Malayalam and politics and B. Sc in Botany. Presently, the college is offering degree courses in commerce, Hindi, chemistry, physics and mathematics and even PG courses in Malayalam, Chemistry and Physics.
