Diploma in Sugar Technology
Sugar is essential farm product as it ids the ingredient of all sweet food items that are cooked in India. Hence there is demand of Sugar in India and international market as sugar is also exported. Hence farming of sugar cane and production of sugar from the cane requires experts. So government of major sugar producing states provides diploma in Sugar technology so that students are trained about latest techniques of farming cane and producing sugar from them at the least possible expenditure.
Eligibility
Diploma in Sugar technology requires very minimum eligibility. The candidate must pass 12th standard from any recognized board and preference are given to the candidates who have biology as an additional subject. Admission is based on the merit of the candidate evaluated through examinations.
Course Out look
The diploma in sugar technology is a 2 year course that trains the students on various aspects of sugar and its production, its quality, production with minimum cost and least natural resources and its proper handling. The students are evaluated on the basis of their performance in practical and theory and graded on the continuous formative exams and end semester exams. The course deals with all type of sugar and its production and its uses in the market.
Job prospect
With the northern states like Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and southern states like Karnataka producing sugars from the sugarcane there is an increasing need of experts in sugar technology in the sugar producing plants. Hence the diploma holders are employed to assist in these industries. They can also start an entrepreneur project as sugar production plant requires very less investment.
