Education Common Entrance Test (EdCET) 2012

Application forms are invited from the eligible candidates for appearing in the Education Common Entrance Test (Ed.CET-2011) conducted by the government of Andhra Pradesh every year. The selected candidates will be given admission into B.Ed course in some of the leading B.Ed colleges of Andhra Pradesh.

Structure and Syllabus for EdCET

Duration of the exam will be two hours and the candidates appearing for this exam will have to complete 150 questions within that time limit. There are three parts in the exam. Part A consists of questions from the general knowledge section. Part B be from the teaching aptitude section and Part C from the methodology section. In the methodology section 100 questions will be there. Rest 50 questions will be from the other two parts. The questions for the examination are expected from the areas of:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who have completed B.A./B.Sc/B.Com/B.Sc (Home science)/B.C.A/B.B.M can apply for this examination.
  • Candidates should have secured this degree from a recognized university.
  • Final year students of the above mentioned degree courses can also apply.
  • Minimum percentage of marks required in the post graduation and graduation for attending this exam is 50%.

How to Apply?

General post offices and university post offices are the places from where a candidate can get the application form. All candidates should pay the application fee of Rs. 150.The application form consists of an OMR sheet and an information brochure. Candidates can also procure application forms from the e-seva centers situated at Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Visakh, Vijayawada, Tirupathi, Warangal. Online application can be done through the official site of EdCET.

How to fill the Form?

OMR sheets in the application form should be given special care and attention. Make sure the OMR sheet is in good condition .Do not fold or scribble on the OMR sheet. Use only dot/ball pens for marking or writing in the OMR sheet. Read all the information given in the booklet before filling.

Important Dates (Tentative)

  • Application forms are available from the last week of March, 2012
  • The deadline for submitting the application from is April, 2012 last week.
  • Date of the Exam will be on the Month of June, 2012

Study Plan

Study all the subjects without leaving any topic. Make sure you make use of the time properly and wisely. The standard of the exam will be of 10th standard level, i.e the questions in the methodology section will be based on the 10th standard or below level. So studying those sections will be much easier. Read lots of news papers and watch news channels. This will keep you updated on the events taking place across you because general knowledge questions will be based on that.

The candidates can view their result in the Website www.osmania.ac.in.

Score Validity

One year will be the score validity of this exam.

    I gave an entrance exam last year i.e-2011. But, as i didn’t receive the rank card, I thought that may be I didn’t qualify. But, later i got to know that i got a good rank. By that time, the counseling has been done. Now, in this webpage the score validity is given for one year. so, can i directly apply for the counseling without giving an exam again.???
